PInAKOTEKA

The Pinakoteka (FCI) Kennel was founded with the intention of preserving performance traits and nurturing cooperation with man. We focus on health, development, sport and work.

We are looking for homes that are ambitious, open to new possibilities and active.

With us, our dogs live at home, go on interesting walks, participate in training and sports activities, and are full-fledged family members.

With us you will not get a dog from a pen bred only for appearance, Shetland Sheepdog is a shepherd breed, fast learning, fond of cooperation with people and we want to breed such dogs so that these features are not lost in the modern world of breeding.

We do not select dogs only for their colour and right after birth, each dog is different, has its own personality traits, strengths and predispositions. With us, you acquire a friend for life and the selection of a puppy for your home is an important element.

Below are the activities we develop ourselves.

ACTIVITIES:

The Shetland Sheepdog is one of the dogs that should have a herding instinct.

Nowadays, popular breeding only for appearance effectively eradicates in the breed the drives inherent in the breed, therefore our dogs have and will have their predispositions for herding tested.

We will add photos and videos of exercises, trials and exams in a separate gallery - click on the photo.

Detecting scent molecules and finding their source used to be only a speciality of dogs on duty, but today it is a thriving activity that allows dogs to ‘get their heads tired’, build confidence, make independent decisions and strengthen their bond with their handler.

The gallery below will be supplemented with photos and videos of exercises and competition starts - click on the photo.

Shelties can find themselves very well in the canine sport of agility. It was for this sport that our female Ciri - Hakuna Matata al Bader - was selected by the breeder from the litter.

From the first entry to the training it was clear that this little merle shepherd will achieve a lot. Her speed is her greatest asset, but she also requires a lot of work in terms of technique and the handler, because there is no time for mistakes and leading by the hand.

A gallery of our exercises and competitions will be added in the gallery - click on the photo.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

Do I have to have sporting or performance plans in order to buy a puppy from this kennel?

No, it is not necessary to have a ‘plan for the dog’, it may happen that there is a ‘lazy dog’ in the litter and then such a dog may go to a person who does not have precise plans and does not need a dog with strong drives or a very active one. We don't have to cross anyone out at the start; it is worth thinking calmly about how we see the dog in our home, how we will meet its needs and what we can offer it. Honesty is the basis of our relationship.

I have a specific plan and requirements for the puppy, now what?

It's great that you know what you want. Fill in the questionnaire according to how you feel and what you're looking for and we'll get in touch for a chat or meeting to discuss any details. The more strongly you specify who you are and what you are looking for the better we will be able to vet the puppies for you as a future owner and more so as a friend. Don't be ashamed to talk about your fears, experiences and impressions, we are here to dispel any doubts and steer you towards the fulfilment of your dreams. It may be that the puppy you are looking for has not yet been born, in which case we may keep your questionnaire and we will let you know when new breeding plans are made to ask you about the validity of your search and the content in your questionnaire. We appreciate people who are patient and we don't forget about them.
